Dark stirrings.

Pensive.

Thoughtful.

Weighing, choosing, turning things over in my head.

Forgive me if this particular post is rather oblique — I’m thinking aloud, is all.

Keep fighting, May.

Pink ribbons for Breast Cancer AwarenessA dear friend of mine, May, is a breast cancer survivor. She is one of the strongest, coolest, funniest, most amazing people I know. I don’t know all the details of her battle with the Big C, but she’s fought, and fought, and fought. And for a while she’s been okay.

She texted me today. She said she saw her oncologist, and there’s a metastasis in her left ilium. She’s changing her medications, and will start radiation therapy. She asked me to pray for her. I’m raging inside, because praying is all I can do.

Dusk.

Again, with the new look. This dark blue and grey theme is called Dusk, designed by Becca Wei. I love it! The font size is perfect, the little flourishes at the top are very Art Deco-esque (which I love).

I think I’ll stay with this one for a while.  At least until someone comes up with a dark red-flavored theme. 🙂

Quentin.

This WordPress theme is called Quentin. I love the Old World feel, and in particular the color scheme. The fonts are a little large for my taste though. I prefer a slightly more subdued typography. I’ll try it for a few days, and see how it grows on me.

Let me know if you like it better than the previous theme I was using, readers. I really liked that one for the simplicity and wide text area. Leave your thoughts if you care to. Thanks.

EDIT:

Sorry, folks, last night’s stab at using the Quentin theme had to go. I tried to log in this morning and the admin options were nowhere to be found! I couldn’t log in to my own blog! WTF?! Long story short…er, did a workaround, got in, changed to a theme that has the kinks worked out.

This one’s called Silver Is The New Black. I like it. Kinda miss the pen graphic on top from Rubrick, though. I’ve yet to find the theme that’s exactly right. Something in Quentin’s colors and feel, but still clean and simple like this. Meanwhile, dear readers, bear with the shifting look, please. We’ll settle down soon. The perfect one isn’t here yet, but I’m sure it will be.

Take the bitter with the sweet.

You see all kinds of people when you’re way too early for work because of the car-coding scheme.

This morning, sitting in my car and watching the world go by, I saw the regular characters hanging around the soccer field — mothers taking their kids for a walk; churchgoers streaming out of the chapel after the 6:30 a.m. Mass; students cramming for exams.

Then I saw Tatay.

What the hell am I doing in my own bed?

There’s nothing like waking up in your lover’s bed. Having him be the last thing you see when you whisper, “Good night, I love you.” And then having the same person smiling at you be the first sight you open your eyes to the next day.

PodCentral.PH February 2006 meet

Yesterday, PodCentral.PH held its February Meet for 2006 at Heaven and Eggs, Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

Turnout wasn’t quite the spectacular group we had for January, but that’s mainly because a lot more people are able to make it to our Makati meets than the Quezon City ones. We currently alternate between the two locales so that members can go to whichever meet is closer and more convenient for them to attend.

Two sexual cents.

I was reading Dr. Mike’s blog, and I came across his reaction to an entry about sex on GoingGoingGone’s blog.

Er, okay. Everybody likes what they like, and are entitled to disliking what they dislike.

The Beatles knew everything, Kyle. All you need IS love.

Kyle,

So today is Valentine’s Day. Remember how I feel about declarations of undying love in public? Yeah, I know. Sue me. 😀

Confucius say…

Well, well, well. Whaddayaknow?

I just cracked a fortune cookie open, and my fortune reads: “Love is in the air and nothing will be the same for you again.”

Cool. 🙂

Put another nickel in.

Right this minute, I’ve got LAUNCHcast Radio playing in my Yahoo! Messenger window. I’m always tuned in to either the “Big Hits of the 60s” or the “Oldies” station, and I’m… just… feeeeeelin’ good. Bring on those good vibrations, baby. I’m such a cultural artifact.

Ewww. Sappy. :D

Ever have one of those days when you just feel… soooo… good?

All is right with the world today, and I think I need to wear a sign warning people: BEWARE OF TWITTERPATED, OVERLY CHEERFUL PERSON.

Don’t mind me. I’m just in love something awful.

Now THIS is a man.

This man made certain that I could only love someone who was comfortable in a hardware store, had his own soldering iron, could take things apart and put them back together again — sometimes in strange and quirky, yet still functional ways — and had a killer smile paired with a boyish charm. Lethal, no?
